True Love Story
According to a story shared on Facebook by Matilda Mahavrata Eneh, one of her friends defied society and looked beyond disability, just to marry a blind woman.
According to her, even though the lady became blind much later in life, it didn't deter her from achieving her dreams, as she went ahead to enrol in a university and even furthered her education.

"I still believe true love exist among the opposite gender. Emeka Idika, my friend and colleague, from Rhythm 93.7 Silverbird radio got married to Margaret Ekpo who is blind, in a court registry in PH. They are now blessed with a beautiful baby girl. Margaret became blind when she was in secondary school but was determined and went to the school of the blind in Enugu, Nigeria, and went ahead to study Mass com, came to PH, for her IT, when Emeka, who was already a staff there fell in love with her due to her intelligence and determination and married her. She can't see but does all the household chores."
Soon after their court wedding in 2012, the happy groom, Emeka, was quoted as saying:
I met Margaret in 2009 when she came to do her IT with Rhythm FM Port-Harcourt where I also work as a journalist. My first attraction to her was her intelligence. Later we became close friends and virtually do everything together. Our friendship blossomed into love and we couldn’t ignore what we both felt in our hearts.
I was sure that I have the qualities I wanted in my wife in her, thus I don’t see any stumbling block in my decision to settle for her as my better half. Moreover, my wife is very sensitive, intelligent, ready to learn, humble, takes care of the house and despite her condition, she makes the most delicious food you could ever think of.
Emeka also advised intending couples to look beyond disability if need be:
It’s so sad that our young men and women of these days hardly look deep before settling for a life partner. They should try and see beyond the physical appearance. I urge them to go for true love and not illusion, because true love never dies and it goes beyond the matters of the physical."
This just proves that there is ability in disability, and love truly conquers all.
